Changing the Story:
Improving Education Outcomes for Students in Foster Care.

We often find that for students experiencing foster care, when they are able to maintain enrollment in the same school, a classroom and school building are the most constant things in their lives. As educators are working to support students in foster care, we want to make sure they know about the many resources available to them, their colleagues, and the students they are supporting.

2022 Keynote Address

Kyra Campbell

Mrs. Kyra Campbell, Choral Director, Edgewood Junior High School

Kyra Campbell has experience with Indiana’s foster care system both as a student and as an educator. She will be sharing stories from her past and present while helping all of us build blueprints for the future of educating youth in care. Mrs. Campbell will also share her experience as it relates to creating and sustaining successful learning environments that support youth who come into our classes seeking structure, stability, support, acceptance, and room to thrive.
