Annual Conference & Events 1

Thank you for joining us!

Together, we celebrated connection, community, and more at the Indiana Foster Youth Alliance (IFYA) Annual Youth Conference! This conference is an event designed by IFYA members that provides resources, education, and tools to young people (age 14-22) with experience in the Foster Care system.

Calling for 2026 Breakout Session Proposals!

The Indiana Foster Youth Alliance (IFYA) is seeking breakout session presenters, ages 14-26 years old, to encourage older foster youth to prepare for the future at our annual event! The IFYA Annual Conference supports Indiana youth with lived experience in gaining the skills and resources needed for empowerment and a successful transition into adulthood.

2025 Breakout Sessions

Ignite Your Growth Potential: Alternative Therapy Approaches

In this breakout session we will discuss alternative forms of therapy. There are so many different kinds, so there is “no one size fits all” for therapy. Participants will have the opportunity to explore an alternative therapy approach.  Attendees will walk away with curiosity and community resources.

Foster to Future: Older Youth Initiatives

Come one, come all and join the Older Youth Initiatives team for a fun talk-show-styled overview of older youth services, programs, and initiatives! You won’t want to miss this opportunity to learn more about all of the available options awaiting you.

Beyond the Data: How It Impacts Your Future

Join the NYTD Ambassadors as they share the importance of knowing how data impacts the future.  The audience will engage in open discussion and establish the foundation for future goals within IYAB.  This will be a great session for any young person looking to take an action and impact the future.

Lets Talk About It: What Does Your Advocacy Look Like

Facing the Future Together, let’s talk about it. It requires advocacy, but do you know what your advocacy looks like?  This breakout session will highlight how to identify and stay informed about your local legislative issues.  Through interactive discussions and activities we will explore different forms of activism and how to identify credible unbiased sources in the media. For the activity portion a mobile device will be required to play, but not to participate.

Unlocking the Skills to Decision Making

This breakout session will help participants  activate their decision making abilities through interactive activities.  If you are looking to enhance your communication, time management, emotional intelligence, and problem solving skills, then this is the breakout session for you!
