Foster Success is hosting Youth Engagement Leadership Training for young people in the Indiana Foster Youth Alliance, ages 14-22. This is a 6 hour, free training. Youth participants will receive a $100 stipend for full attendance and participation at the training.
Saturday, September 19-Virtual
This training makes IFYA members eligible to take on leadership opportunities like facilitating workgroups, planning engagement events, and doing public speaking on behalf of the program.
Training Objectives:
- Participants will gain a thorough understanding of their state’s child welfare system including key stakeholders, acronyms and funding.
- Participants will complete Strategic Sharing training including risks and rewards of sharing and the three C’s strategy for strategic sharing.
- Participants will gain an understanding of how to be an effective worker.
- Participants will learn the basics of professionalism in child welfare spaces including the courtroom.
- Participants will develop their personal areas of interest and explore their own areas of strength.
- Participants will be introduced to a cohort of peers who they will work alongside over the course of a year+.
If you are an OYS/IL provider or an adult support bringing a young person you are welcome to stay but you cannot participate in the training. There is a registration ticket for you.
