Empowering Futures

Volunteers play a crucial role in advancing the mission of Foster Success by providing essential support to young people who lack the necessary resources and guidance. Cindy and Doug, dedicated volunteers/supporters of Foster Success, have experienced firsthand the rewarding impact of their contributions.

As former foster parents, Cindy and Doug understand the challenges young people face when transitioning out of foster care. Their desire to make a meaningful difference led them to get involved with Foster Success.

“When you have been blessed with a lot, you need to give back.”
– Cindy, Foster Success Volunteer

These volunteer opportunities provide invaluable support during pivotal moments in a young person’s life. Whether it’s through a simple gesture like sending a birthday card or offering a helping hand during a major transition, each act of kindness makes a lasting impact.

“Leaving high school is such an incredibly important time in a young person’s life. At eighteen, you have to start adulting. It’s a critical time of development and needing support. There’s a fine line between going the wrong way and the right.”
– Doug, Foster Success Volunteer

Volunteers are the backbone of Foster Success, offering both practical assistance and emotional support to the young people we serve. Their dedication exemplifies how volunteering not only transforms the lives of others but also strengthens connections within our community. By getting involved, volunteers join us in our mission to hear, support, and empower young people.

There are many ways to be involved and make an impact, such as:
  • Sign and mail holiday cards to brighten the holiday season for young people.
  • Assist with mailings for the National Youth in Transition Database (NYTD).
  • Help prepare and send birthday cards to young people, many of whom may have never received one before.
  • Support move-in day at Indiana University Indianapolis (IUI) for the Catalyst Summer Bridge Program, offering assistance for a smooth transition.
  • Collect gift cards for our young people’s basic needs.
  • Inventory, organize, and mail out basic need packages.

Volunteer with us.
