A series of online financial courses, available free to qualified young people in foster care. These courses will elevate your knowledge of finances, from budgeting and banking to saving and smart spending.

SCORING
Complete each module with a score of 80% or higher.

ASSISTANCE
Expect follow-up from every 30, 60, & 90 days.

EARNINGS
Across all steps, you can earn up to $3,875.

Here’s what you’ll learn.
Plus, you can earn up to $3,875 through the entire series.

There are seven financial course modules, starting with Banking Basics and leading up to Insurance coverage.

Score 80% or higher on all seven modules and you’ll be eligible for matched savings, Opportunity Passport, Credit Build and more.

Part 1: Launch

Earn $75 by scoring 80% or higher on each module

To apply

  • You are 14+ and have spent at least 1 day in foster care at or after the age of 14.
  • Legally eligible to open a bank account.

You’ll learn about

  1. Banking Basics
  2. Income and Employment
  3. Budgeting
  4. Credit and Debt
  5. Consumer Skills
  6. Financing Higher Education
  7. Insurance

Part 2: Elevate

Achieve financial independence in this youth-led financial discussion

To apply

  • You are 16+ and have spent at least 1 day in foster care at or after the age of 14.
  • Scored 80% or higher on Banking Basics in Launch Module 1.

You’ll learn about

  1. Identifying income
  2. Ask live questions and get answers from bankers
  3. Manging dorm funds, credit cards, and other income
  4. Setting boundaries with family, friends, foster parents, and others

Part 3: Accelerate

A 15-hour advanced finance and asset-building training

To apply

  • You are 18-26 and have spent at least 1 day in foster care at or after the age of 14.
  • You must register for yourself
  • Completed Launch Module 1 with 80% or higher
  • You are currently employed, in college, or in qualified training
  • Have a valid state ID or passport
  • Be in good financial standing
  • Ready to save

You’ll learn about

  1. Improving your financial literacy
  2. Savings and assets
  3. Achieving economic stability

Part 4: Take-Off

Earn a $300 credit-building loan in this 12-month guided savings program called Credit Build

To apply

  • You are 18-26 and have spent at least 1 day in foster care at or after the age of 14.
  • You must register for yourself
  • Complete all 7 Launch Moduled with an 80% or higher score
  • Attend Elevate (part 2)
  • You are currently employed, in college, or in qualified training
  • Have a valid state ID or passport
  • Be in good financial standing
