SUMMARY:Youth Engagement Leadership Training: Virtual
DESCRIPTION:Foster Success is hosting Youth Engagement Leadership Training for young people in the Indiana Foster Youth Alliance\, ages 14-22. This is a 6 hour\, free training. Youth participants will receive a $100 stipend for full attendance and participation at the training. \nSaturday\, September 19-Virtual \nThis training makes IFYA members eligible to take on leadership opportunities like facilitating workgroups\, planning engagement events\, and doing public speaking on behalf of the program. \nTraining Objectives: \n\nParticipants will gain a thorough understanding of their state’s child welfare system including key stakeholders\, acronyms and funding.\nParticipants will complete Strategic Sharing training including risks and rewards of sharing and the three C’s strategy for strategic sharing.\nParticipants will gain an understanding of how to be an effective worker.\nParticipants will learn the basics of professionalism in child welfare spaces including the courtroom.\nParticipants will develop their personal areas of interest and explore their own areas of strength.\nParticipants will be introduced to a cohort of peers who they will work alongside over the course of a year+.\n\nIf you are an OYS/IL provider or an adult support bringing a young person you are welcome to stay but you cannot participate in the training.
