Scholarship and support for independent students

THRIVE is a scholarship and transformative program for incoming IUPUI freshmen (admitted for the fall semester) who have experienced foster care, housing insecurity, or homelessness, or who are emancipated or have had legal guardianship determined by a court. Independent students are offered an empowering first-year experience, as part of a community, where they can realize their unique potential through personal development and self-discovery. Students are surrounded by the resources and support they need to master the transition to college and work toward their goals.

If you know an aspiring college student who would benefit from this program, please refer them or send their information to us. We can help them navigate the IUPUI admission process, the FAFSA, and the application for the program.
